Washington Middle School - Hands-on Fashion Tech

Cristina and Teachers Who Tech brought an innovative, hands-on fashion tech program to our after school program at Washington Middle School in Seattle’s Central District. The club attracted a diverse group of girls with a range of academic ability, and they were all set up to explore and excel in the club. Cristina was very attentive to youth dynamics and worked to create an emotionally safe environment for all participants.

French American School of Puget Sound- Music with Microcontrollers

This year I took a class with Ms. Cristina where we made cardboard guitars. We loved designing, programming, and constructing them. Ms. Cristina makes a class where you learn a lot and at the same time, you have a bunch of fun. So, I highly recommend it!

I had Ms. Cristina as my teacher throughout middle school. In her classes, I got to do projects that no other teacher would offer. I built a fully functional electric guitar from scratch, made a piano out of a cigar box, and participated in the First Lego League robotics competition. In her class, we learned to code robots and micro controllers, as well as programs on scratch. We designed hydraulic elevators, soldered LED bracelets, and made cardboard ukuleles. Ms. Cristina exposed me to many different sides of technology from coding to design. She always made sure everyone in the class understood, and she pushed us to figure out things out creatively and by ourselves. Overall, she is a really great teacher who taught me so much.
